Our mission is to help our patients achieve their highest functional level. We will accomplish this by providing quality services with understanding and sensitivity.
Our vision is that we are recognized as a model rehabilitative team and as pioneers in patient care, education, and technological advances.
The people we serve will know we are the best!
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic (PM&R) provides diagnostic, physical, psychosocial, educational, vocational, and recreational activities for the prevention, diagnosis, and full treatment of Veterans with physical, medical, or mental disabilities. PM&R evaluates range of motion, muscle strength, sensibility, joint function and cognitive status. Based on the findings, the therapists develop and apply specific individualized treatments for the most favorable adjustment to the community.
PM&R also performs electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies in order to diagnose neuromuscular disorders.
The Veteran's Rehabilitation can be viewed as a process rather than a series of therapeutic applications. The process begins with the start of illness, continues through restoration to maximum independence of the individual. Since diseases have a disabling effect on the total person, the rehabilitative effort must be extensive and affect the total person. PM&R provides flexibility in design of the therapeutic routine to meet the needs and desires of each individual patient.
The services that comprise our PM&R clinic have links located on the right to provide a more in-depth description of the type of care each service provides and the types of patients that are seen. Contact information and clinic locations are also listed on these pages.
