Dayton VAMC Proudly Announces the Site Selected for the New Richmond Clinic
October 31, 2013
INDIANA - As a part of the continuing effort to provide world-class health care closer to home, Veterans of Wayne County will soon receive their VA outpatient care at a new location in Richmond. The Dayton VA proudly announces that the new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will be located at 1020 North J Street, Richmond, Indiana. The clinic will open for business in the fall of 2014.
As stated by Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Eric K. Shinseki in 2012, "Community-based clinics are key to providing Veterans better access to high-quality care closer to home. By reducing the distance Veterans have to travel, we hope more Veterans will benefit from the health care services they have earned through their service to our Nation."
The new 11,960 square foot clinic amenities will include additional private exam rooms, spacious waiting area, conference space (utilized as meeting room and group treatment area) and x-ray room. Services offered will include primary care, home based primary care, optometry, outpatient mental health (general mental health treatment, specialized substance abuse treatment, specialized post-traumatic stress disorder treatment and mental health intensive case management), physical therapy, podiatry, audiology, laboratory, radiology and social work. Other services will be expanded at the new location through the innovation of telemedicine.
Veterans who are interested in health care services are encouraged to contact the Richmond CBOC at (765) 973-6915. A date for the new clinic's grand opening and ribbon cutting will be announced in the near future!
