Dayton VA Medical Center Announces Site of New Lima CBOC

NOTE: The opening of the new Lima CBOC has been pushed to an undetermined date at this time. A new projected opening date will be released as soon as it is available.

What:
The Dayton VA Medical Center is pleased to announce the selection of 750 High Street, Lima, Ohio 45801 as the new site for the Lima Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The new site, projected to open following renovations in Spring of 2018, will replace the existing clinic at 1303 Bellefontaine Avenue.

The new clinic will offer significantly more room than the existing clinic: 9,750 square feet versus 8,341. The new site – conveniently located to provide easy access to major thoroughfares such as US 30, State Route 501, Hume Road, and Thayer Road -- will also add significantly more parking (approximately 100 spaces), additional rooms for nursing clinics, and dedicated exam rooms for tele-health and other speciality services. Similar to the “improving quality of life” award-winning Dayton VAMC CBOC which was completed in Richmond, Indiana in 2015, the new Lima CBOC will be designed from the beginning to best serve the needs of the Veterans. This move will improve access to care, efficiency of facility operations, a state-of-the-art infrastructure layout, parking, and care coordination between all services. The relocation was necessary to serve the rapidly growing Veteran population in Lima – the number of Veterans served at the Lima CBOC on Bellefontaine has expanded by 10.5% over the past 2 years.

The site at 1303 Bellefontaine Avenue will continue to remain open and serve Veterans for all existing services until the new site on High Street is ready to open in the Spring of 2018. At that time, Veterans’ medical information and appointment schedules will be seemlessly transferred to the new CBOC.

The Lima CBOC served more than 4,200 Veterans in the past 12 months, with more than 22,000 outpatient visits.
