Dayton VA Celebrates Glenn Costie Day

What: The Dayton VA Medical Center bids farewell to its Director & C.E.O., Glenn Cositie, as he completes his final day in his leadership role.

To commemorate Costie’s passion and commitment to our Veteran community the City of Dayton has proclaimed October 27, 2017 as Glenn Costie Day.

Costie served more than 33 years in the Federal Service and has been a strong proponent of community collaboration, relationship based care, & above all, service to our Nation’s Veterans.

Under Costie, the Dayton VA Medical Center increased the number of Veterans served, opened a new CBOC clinic in Richmond, opened Lyons Place 2 to provide senior housing, expanded the enhanced use leases on campus, opened a new simulation center to train healthcare professionals, and recently broke ground on a new Fisher House.

In addition, Costie was hand-selected as the Interim CEO/Medical Center Director for the Phoenix and Cincinnati VA Medical Centers to provide leadership, and strong management skills until a new director could be hired.

He has been awarded the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) Diversity Award, The Joint Commission’s Top Performer on Key Quality Measures, Awarded State Historic Preservation Office Merit Award for preservation of the Grotto, and established community collaborations within Dayton to effectively end homelessness.

Costie and his wife, Tammy, will remain in the Miami Valley and will continue to serve the Veteran community as part of Ohio’s Hospice team.
