Dayton VA Medical Center to host Lincoln’s Promise event

DAYTON, Ohio – On Wednesday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m., the Dayton VA Medical Center will host community partners who are planning to donate a bronze statue honoring President Abraham Lincoln. The event will be located next to the Putnam Library, (Bldg. 120) and is open to everyone.

The goal of this event is for community partners to create awareness of the building efforts for the proposed Lincoln memorial. Community partners consist of the American Veterans Heritage Center, and the Lincoln Society of Dayton.

Joining the event to present on the artistic process will be Urbana artist and sculptor, Mike Major, who also created the Lincoln statue in downtown Dayton.

Media are welcome to attend the event.
