Dayton VA Medical Center to host Central State University Chorus

What: The Dayton VA Medical Center welcomes The Central State University Theatre Arts Program as they perform Relevance and Resonance – a Langston Hughes Retrospective.

This choral presentation will take place on October 14, at 7pm in the Historic Protestant Chapel located at the Dayton VA Medical Center campus.

The presentation joins the Central State University Chorus and the World House Choir in a dramatic and musical presentation of one of our greatest poets.

The World House Choir, founded and directed by Dr. Catherine Roma, is a Miami Valley area community choir with a mission to perform music that motivates and inspires our communities toward justice, diversity, and equality. The highly acclaimed Central State University Chorus, under the direction of Professor Jeremy Winston, has a repertoire encompassing all periods and styles, including spirituals of African Americans, gospel, and jazz.

Relevance and Resonance – a Langston Hughes Retrospective highlights significant poems put to choral music and dramatic interludes. The program features lyric baritone Charles Williams and CSU Alum tenor Christopher Smith along with introductory dramatic presentations by Dr. Tammy Kernodle and Dr. Kevin McGruder.

This program is free and open to the public.
