Home Chapel in 1870, this is the first permanent church constructed by the U.S. Government. The Veterans, many with war injuries, quarried the limestone themselves from the Home grounds. Restoration is planned in partnership with American Veterans Heritage Center. |

The Home Store was a favorite meeting place for Veterans. Veterans were able to purchase almost any item that was in a city store, and at the same price. |
