Compensated Work Therapy

Veterans Industries/Compensated Work Therapy Program (VI/CWT) provides a structured environment where clients participate in vocational rehabilitation activities at least 30 hours per week. Clients for this program must have a primary psychiatric or medical diagnosis, be medically stable, and have a goal of competitive employment.

Policy on Non-Discrimination

In accordance with Dayton VA Medical Center policy, this program endeavors to provide timely, coordinated and integrated case management service to Veterans. No person shall be excluded from the VI/CWT program because of race, ethnic origin, national origin, religion, age, disability (physical or mental), sex or sexual orientation.

Referrals and Acceptance Policy

  • Referrals come from VA programs to the VI/CWT treatment team. Clients who are referred must be able to work.
  • All referrals will clearly identify the rehabilitation needs, precautions, limitations and other pertinent information regarding the client.
  • Once a client is determined to be eligible, a case manager is assigned.
  • Participants will be accepted into the VI/CWT program in chronological order of referral, once they have been determined to meet program criteria.
