The VA encourages all Veterans and their families to keep current with weather conditions. Visit the state Emergency Management Agency in your area for emergency preparedness tips, useful Web sites and telephone numbers, suggestions for a disaster supplies kit, and more.
All Veterans are advised to follow evacuation orders given by local city and county governments during emergency situations.
Additionally, all Dayton VA Medical Center facilities including Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) are operating on their normal schedules.
Service Chiefs and Managers:
In accordance with VA Handbook 5011, all employees of VA Medical Centers provide critical services. In keeping with this regulation, each employee at the Dayton VA Medical Center is required to be at work regardless of emergency situations. Emergency situations include weather related conditions such as heavy snow or severe icing, power outages, etc. Employees who do not report to work under these conditions may request appropriate leave from their leave approving official. Managers and supervisors may use their discretion in approving leave for their employees. Please contact Employee Relations on extension 2495 for additional questions or concerns.
